Healthier Orange Chicken

What you’ll need:

  • 1 1/2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs, thinly sliced

  • 1 tbsp corn starch

  • 2 tbsp + 1/3 c soy sauce

  • Olive oil 

  • Black pepper

  • Juice of an orange 

  • 1/4 c honey

  • 2 - 3 tbsp chili paste (Gojuchang)

  • Fresh ginger (measure w your heart) 

  • 2-3 cloves garlic

  • Cooked rice to serve it on

For the sauce (measure w your heart):

  • Kewpie mayo 

  • Sweet Thai chili sauce

  • Sriracha

How to make it:

  1. Preheat oven to 425

  2. On a larger sheet pan, toss chicken with 1-2 tbsp soy sauce, the juice from half of the orange, season with pepper and sprinkle with cornstarch and lightly toss. Drizzle with olive oil and bake for 15 min

  3. To make the sauce, combine 1/3 c soy sauce, the other half of the orange’s juice, honey, chili paste, garlic and ginger

  4. Once chicken has baked for 15 min, pour two thirds of the sauce over the chicken and bake for another 5 min. Then, switch the oven to broil and broil 1-2 minutes until chicken chars cover edges. Spoon over the remaining sauce

  5. Serve over rice, Top with yum yum/spicy Mayo sauce & season with cayenne if you want it spicier
