Egg Roll Bowl

What you need:

  • Ground pork (or chicken)

  • Half of a white or sweet onion

  • 3-4 green onions

  • 5 cloves garlic

  • 2-3 tsp minced or chopped ginger

  • Soy sauce (a little over 1/4 cup)

  • Chinese 5 Spice, a few generous dashes 

  • Cole slaw mix (You could also thinly chop veggies like broccoli stems, carrots, cabbage, etc. if you are trying to clean out the fridge)

  • Toasted Sesame oil 

  • Optional: spoonful of rice vinegar or hoisin (if you have them/want those flavors in there) 

How to make it:

  1. Cook pork & drain fat 

  2. Add onion, garlic and the whites of the green onion. Cook for a couple minutes until you can smell the garlic.

  3. Add ginger, soy sauce, and Chinese 5 spice.

  4. Add slaw mix and stir well to incorporate sauce.

  5. Simmer & add sesame oil.

  6. Serve over rice and top with green onion & homemade egg roll sauce. (Sauce: Kewpie mayo, sweet chili sauce, sriracha. Measure with your heart.)
